Companion Quilts
A
little bit about these quilts! With each
quilt that I make, there is always left over pieces, leftover fabric,
or leftover scraps. Most scraps went into my scrap bag and just sat
there. It almost saddened me that those beautiful leftover fabrics
that I love, weren't going to be used. There was not enough to make
another quilt, and most were already cut, so it would be unlikely that
they would be used for a different project. The idea came to me to
start making Companion
Quilts - small, NICU or PICU quilts, perfect for a tiny little baby as a
blanket, a lovey, a light block over their incubator, or even as a baby
doll quilt. These Companion Quilts are made from the same fabric as
its
matching large size quilt and perhaps even in the same pattern. Thus
Companion Quilts was born! It is the best of both worlds - leftover
pieces get used and some lucky baby and family will hopefully receive a
blanket that will bring a smile to their faces during such a difficult
time! Each Companion Quilt is made with love, knowing that these small
little leftover pieces that otherwise would sit in a pile, instead are
sewn together to help keep a baby warm and feel loved. That makes my
heart smile!
